Accounting Assistant

ASGCO has an opening for an entry level Accounting Assistant in our Nazareth headquarters. We are seeking an organized, motivated, and collaborative professional to join our staff fulltime in the role of Accounting Assistant. This position will report directly to the Controller. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring company purchase orders are processed timely and accurately. We need a dependable professional with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail. The successful applicant will have working knowledge of automated purchasing practices and prior experience in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure purchase orders are entered promptly and accurately
  • Obtain approval for requisition requests
  • Create new vendor accounts in accounting system
  • Complete and submit credit applications, as necessary
  • Process customer credit card payments
  • File and maintain office records for the CFO, Controller, and accounts receivable supervisor
  • Work with and provide support to accounts payable supervisor and accounts receivable supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Other job duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1+ years prior office experience as an Accounting Assistant/Purchasing Associate
  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Accounts payable experience is a plus
  • Good organizational, research, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Safety Manager

Location: Nazareth, PA

We are seeking a Safety Manager that will be responsible for safety processes and related programs at all ASGCO sites. We are looking for someone that proactively educates employees on Federal and State safety regulations. Coordinates and directs safety and related legal activities (MSHA, OSHA, and DOT). Represents Company with outside agencies and inspectors.

ASGCO engineers, manufactures, distributes a wide array of conveyor and screening components, all specifically designed for the above ground and underground mining, aggregate, cement, recycling, bulk shipping terminals, pulp and paper, recycling, food processing and other bulk material handling industries. We focus on providing exceptional products and service to our customers with the best solutions to their conveyor and screening material handling applications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Priority on overseeing supervision in incident/accident investigation
  • Assist supervision in training all employees in the basics of Loss Control
  • Work with management to develop annual safety budget
  • Responsible for record-keeping and other documentation related to company health and safety requirements
  • Work with location safety managers to perform audits, and stay in compliance with DOT, OSHA, MSHA, etc.
  • Work closely with management and HR to manage all worker’s compensation claims
  • Implement boiler plate pre-qualified forms for contract works
  • Perform as Safety Leader on field service jobs as required
  • Actively monitor and audit work processes and practices for safety compliance and coach employees to follow best safety practices
  • Prepare and communicate findings and recommend corrective actions on all safety issues
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures in the shop and in the field
  • Oversee third party random drug screening companywide
  • Address employee safety concerns in a professional manner
  • Provide accurate interpretation of MSHA regulations
  • Provide the necessary reporting to state mining authorities in those states where we conduct business
  • Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices
  • Other job duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Occupational Safety & Environmental Health degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial safety related field, with supervisory experience preferred
  • MSHA card holder
  • OSHA 10 and 30 certified instructor
  • Familiar coordinating and reporting to third party compliance groups i.e. Browz, Aveda, ISN, etc.
  • Travel to job-sties and all ASGCO facilities as required
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft platform, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated experience in accident prevention, safety auditing, safety/health compliance, and performance
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated competency in adapting to change
  • Self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs
  • Must be hardworking, dedicated, and a fast learner
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks is a plus

Criteria/Conditions

  • Work is performed in various industrial settings and environments, including: shop, mining, and construction which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
  • While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.

Location: Nazareth, PA; Pittsburgh, PA

We are seeking to add an experienced Millwright to join our teams. The most qualified candidates would be ones with experience doing basic welding and cutting, setting bearings, general maintenance, alignment of pulleys and more. This will involve work in the branch workshop and a significant proportion of time out at customer sites.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installing and repairing industrial machinery and equipment and competent with operating basic hand and power tools.
  • Laser alignment of pulleys, drives and gearboxes.
  • Able to do basic welding/cutting including stick, wire, plasma, gouging.
  • Setting bearings on the conveyor system.
  • General maintenance on different types of warehouse equipment.
  • Use cranes, fork trucks, hoist pulleys, and rollers to complete the job properly and effectively.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • 50% travel in company vehicles

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Millwright experience
  • Must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, underground or in confined areas
  • Must be willing to receive MSHA training
  • Comply with federal regulations on mandatory drug testing
  • Mechanically inclined to read work orders, use tools and equipment
  • Basic rigging, lifting and slinging
  • Technical training in related technical field is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety issues
  • Able to lift and load equipment into vehicle and unload at repair sites
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

  • Perform functions to identify, conceptualize and design bulk material conveyor transfer system components to meet end user needs
  • Work with Sales and Engineering and Fabrication departments to develop solutions to meet end user bulk material conveyor transfer system needs
  • Develop and maintain CAD skills in software utilized by our organization
  • Ensure necessary details, dimensions and calculations are prepared and accurate applying applicable standards
  • Prepare detailed fabrication drawings from the final three-dimensional models and ensure completeness of data on prints
  • Experience in reviewing Fabrication details and review extensively prior to fabrication
  • Maintain contacts and good working relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Assist Territory Sales Managers with engineering drawings and other technical services
  • Provide AutoCAD and other types of engineering product drawings for projects and sales for Distributors and end-user in the territory
  • Assist Territory Managers with Conveyor inspections, Training and Sales as needed in their respected territories
  • Assist with increasing sales and market share for all ASGCO’s Division sales
  • Look to improve our current products and look for new products for us to promote and improve upon
  • Assist with marketing (trade shows, literature, website, and advertisements) and manufacturing departments
  • Be a SAFE and motivated leader / team player
  • Domestic and International travel as needed

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Drafting Designer or similar
  • 3+ years of related experience as a design engineer with responsibility for designing mechanical components of industrial products preferred
  • Recent experience using 3D solid modeling software is required; Inventor experience required
  • Strong MS Office skills and experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience interacting directly with customers and building positive customer relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience analyzing technical drawings and section views
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong decision-making ability

  • Computer skills including spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Office Suite required

We are seeking a highly motivated, hardworking individual to join our team as an Outside Sales Territory Manager. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable working independently and has a passion for sales. Experience with any conveyors, material handling industries or power transmission products is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Increase sales and market share for all of ASGCO products and services in the territory.
  • Call on target end-users to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, service and sales are being achieved.
  • Work with local customers to identify, quote, engineer and close product solution and service sales.
  • Perform conveyor inspections / surveys / audits and maintenance training at end-user customer plant locations.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Assist with customer installations of our products to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work with and coordinate vendor resources to build relationships with support sales.
  • Maintain an excellent safety record.
  • Maintain and update our CRM program and submit weekly schedules, call reports and expense reports on a timely basis.
  • Mechanical aptitude, leadership abilities and a Safe positive attitude.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industrial outside sales or account executive experience required
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable, organized, detailed and focused.
  • Industry/ conveyor manufacturing preferred.
  • Computer skills including spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Reside within 50 miles of the New England area, preferred

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains welds on various items using a variety of processes (manual arc, tungsten inert gas, metallic inert gas, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items ensuring safety.
  • Repairs metal surfaces for the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient use of items.
  • Installs various items for the purpose of completing projects safely and within established time frames.
  • Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
  • Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
  • Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
  • Work well with limited supervision.
  • Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Welding/fabrication
  • Knowledge and skills to perform job using band saws, grinders, press brake, shear, drill press, chop saw, part painting.
  • Knowledge of basic math or geometry.
  • Read a variety of manuals and following prescribed formats with the ability to inform others and solve practical problems.
  • Be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Can lift up to 100lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time, significant fine finer dexterity.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines.
  • May be required to work overtime on as needed bases.

The Band Saw Operator is primarily responsible for the precision cutting of metal material in a timely manner. This position must maintain high quality work, high level of attention to detail while ensuring personal productivity and safe operation of the machinery. The right candidate must be able to take ownership of the area, keep it organized neat and clean.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviews and interprets written work instructions.
  • Must be able to accurately read measuring devices to ensure accuracy of cut orders.
  • Operates band saws and other fabrication shop machinery as required.
  • Ability to utilize fabrication equipment such as: belt sander, drill press, bench grinder, hand tools, measuring tools…etc.
  • Effectively prioritize workloads and use of available resources within time constraints.
  • Assists with keeping the shop in an orderly and clean state, following all company safety procedures.
  • Must be able to move steel materials utilizing physical strength forklifts, slings and straps
  • Responsible for quality control of all jobs and orders

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Basic math skills
  • Prioritize workloads
  • Experience and/or previous training in operating a bandsaw
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents
  • Thorough knowledge of various types of metals, their physical properties and how to work with them
  • Candidates must pass a background check, drug screen and other job requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Vacation

ASGCO® offers a very generous vacation and holiday package. In most cases, it exceeds the industry by one week. Based on length of service, you earn up to four weeks of vacation. ASGCO® provides 7 paid holidays: ½ day New Years’ Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, ½ day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Financial Programs – 401K Plan

ASGCO’s professionally managed 401K plan allows an employee to set aside up to 25 percent of his/her pre-tax income as savings for retirement. The plan offers a number of investment choices for these savings, from fixed rate of return investments to more speculative growth funds. ASGCO® matches up to 50% of the first 6% the employee contributes.

Health Insurance

ASGCO® offers a comprehensive group health insurance plan which includes medical, dental and vision coverage, along with a prescription program. Our plan covers most medically necessary procedures, ASGCO® pays 50 percent in-network and preventative dental and vision at 100 percent. The employee co-payments and deductibles are very reasonable and competitive. An employee is eligible for the group health insurance after 90 days of employment.

Life Insurance

ASGCO® provides company sponsored life insurance for all employees. The amount of coverage is based on the employee’s annual salary. Employees may voluntarily purchase additional term life insurance.

Short Term / Long Term Disability

ASGCO® provided company sponsored short term disability insurance for all employees. The amount of coverage is 60 percent of your pay on your 8th day on until your return to work duty.

Service Awards

ASGCO® considers that it is important to acknowledge and reward it’s long serving employees. Therefore, those employees who have completed 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service with ASGCO®, with no break in service, will be entitled to receive a gift card as an award in recognition of their commitment and loyalty to the organization. This service award is applicable to all employees regardless of role employment status.

Company Parties

Company parties are hosted a couple of times a year, which helps bolster moral and encourage employees to socialize outside of the work environment. Children and spouses are invited to most of the parties furthering our family-based culture.
