ASGCO has a Painter/ Sand Blaster opening for a candidate that will be responsible for completing finishing tasks for the Metal Fabrication Department. This applicant must be able to maintain high quality work, high level of attention to detail while ensuring personal productivity and safe operation of the machinery. The right candidate must be able to take ownership of the area, keep it organized neat and clean. ASGCO engineers, manufactures and distributes a wide array of conveyor and screening components, all specifically designed for the above-ground and underground mining, aggregate, cement, recycling, bulk shipping terminals, pulp and paper, food processing and other bulk material handling industries. Responsibilities:
- Paint with primer and 2 part epoxies
- Sand blasting
- Preparation work
- Powder coating when needed
- Reviews and interprets written work instructions
- Must be able to accurately read measuring devices
- Effectively prioritize workloads and use of available resources within time constraints
- Assists with keeping the shop in an orderly and clean state, following all company safety procedures
- Must be able to move steel materials utilizing physical strength forklifts, slings and straps
- Responsible for quality control of all jobs and orders
- Operate company vehicles and make deliveries
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects during the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment

Requirements:
- Painting experience required
- Basic math skills
- Prioritize workloads
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
- Candidates must pass a background check, drug screen and other job requirements
Working Conditions:
- Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines
- Work is performed in an industrial warehouse setting and environments, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
