ASGCO® is looking for Vulcanizer to install, service and repair conveyor belts and components and who has experience on Industrial jobsites, including: Aggregate, Asphalt, Ready-mix, Quarries and or other types of Industrial / Manufacturing plants.  We provide in-house training programs for advancement.  Any construction or millwright type jobs including steel fabrication, welding, millwright, conveyor belt splicing, vulcanizing, proper rigging techniques and any conveyor experience is a plus.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Install new conveyor belt
  • Change out existing conveyor belt
  • Repair or splicing of conveyor belt
  • Knowledge of pulley lagging; changing of pulleys
  • Maintenance or changing of mechanical systems that transfer conveyor belt
  • Follows instructions under the leadership of the Crew Lead to ensure all aspects of the job are covered to avoid any time-consuming delays as well as hazard and/or task training that may be required before the task begins
  • Ensures equipment is maintained in proper working order to avoid injury and work areas are kept clean/free of hazards which may endanger the health/safety of any employee
  • Performs work according to instructions from Crew Lead to ensure quality and satisfaction is achieved.
  • Must possess basic belt maintenance and or conveyor belt vulcanizing knowledge
  • Applicants must have a fundamental understanding of conveyance systems and have the ability to safely perform tasks such as installing mechanical splices.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1+) years of conveyor belt experience, preferred
  • 2+ years of mining experience, preferred
  • Familiarity with all hot vulcanized splicing techniques and previous pulley lagging experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to travel
  • Effective communication is required
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Job duties will be performed underground and on surface, those interested must be able to obtain all applicable Federal and State underground and surface certifications; successfully complete industry approved training courses.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in different units of measurement (whole numbers, common fractions and decimals)
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret metal rule
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines.
  • May be required to work overtime on as needed bases.
